HARBOUR HEAT PROMISE A NIGHT WITH THE STARS

Join the Appliance Shed Harbour Heat for some top of the table NBL basketball action this Thursday night and enjoy first class entertainment from Barbara Kendall and her Dancing with the Stars partner Jonny during halftime!

Yes, the Heat play the Devon Taranaki Dynamos this Thursday as they look to pick up their fourth win in five games and stay in touch with the top of the NBL table. Coach Tony Webster says his side will be looking for a quick start to the game after missing action over the past weekend.

It was just a quirk of the draw that we sat out the weekend and while I would have preferred to play, we werent idle. We have taken the time to spend more time practicing together and further gelling as a team but you cant replicated hardened competition intensity, no matter how hard you try.

The Dynamos are clearly on the improve as their overtime loss against the Giants would suggest. They are a team of fighters and will be desperate to record their first win; we have to be on our game to make sure it isnt at our expense on Thursday.

Webster has a full squad to choose from with all players fit and available. Corey Websters white hot start to the season cooled a little in the loss to the Saints two weeks ago and the young guard can again expect to be heavily marked.

The Dynamos bring a familiar face to the Furnace on Thursday with former development player Warwick Siddall in their lineup. Other threats include their imports Phillip Gilbert and Eric Verneisel, both fired up from outside the three point line in the overtime loss to the Nelson Giants last Friday while Aaron Bailey-Nowell led Dynamos scorers in that game with 28 in his usual high energy performance.

Fans will be treated to a live performance from Dancing with the Stars couple Barbara Kendall and partner Jonny as they look to garner votes and gain further experience with a live half time performance.

The game marks a busy 24 hours for the Heat, with a trip to Christchurch early on Good Friday as the Heat takes on the Cougars Friday night in back to back NBL games.

The Heat go into the double header in third place on the NBL ladder with a 4 and 1 record. A win over the Dynamos on Thursday night will return them to the top with the same win loss ratio as the Giants.

The game tips off at 7pm on Thursday night at the North Shore Events Centre (the Furnace) with doors open from 6. Tickets on the door or from North Shore Events Centre on the night or from Harbour Basketball offices during the week, also at the North Shore Events Centre.
