VFL fans believe Box Hill's recruiting has been the shrewdest of the summer.
In an online poll on www.victorianfootballleague.com.au, the majority of VFL fans say the Hawks have fared best in the off-season, edging out major signings at Williamstown, Geelong and Werribee.
The Hawks scored a major coup adding retired Melbourne champion Adem Yze and young ex-Magpie Sam Iles to its list.
At Burbank Oval, Williamstown stitched-up Collingwood's Chris Egan and North Melbourne's Ben Davies.
The first major shock of the off-season came when Werribee skipper and reigning J.J. Liston Trophy winner James Podsiadly switched to Geelong. Werribee acted swiftly to replace their major goal source, securing ex-Hawthorn and North Melbourne star Nathan Thompson to the fold.
