The nitewise trial bus service has been extremely successful transporting young Langwarrin and Karingal residents home safely after a night out in Frankston. More than 350 people have caught the bus home since the trial commenced just before Christmas.
Recognising that some people are still driving their cars to the late night venues, Frankston City Council together with the local police, have agreed to the introduction of two new nitewise services that will encourage our young people to leave their cars at home. Not only does this mean that parking hassles are avoided, it also means that the risk of drink driving is greatly reduced.
From Friday 30 January, the nitewise bus will pick up from bus stops along Cranbourne Road, between Northgateway and McClelland Drive at 9pm and 10pm and from along the bus stop at Star Zone Karingal at 9.15pm and 10.15pn every Friday and Saturday evening, delivering passengers directly into the heart of Frankston nightlife.
