Former Collingwood player Chris Egan has signed with the Williamstown Football Club.
Egan, the number 10 selection at the AFL National Draft in 2004, played 27 AFL games with the Magpies.
The 22-year-old will use the 2009 season as a launching pad to restart his AFL career.
The 187cm tall Egan adds versatility to the Seagulls squad as he is able to play in a variety of positions at either end of the ground.
Williamstown Football Club General Manager Brendan Curry was pleased to have secured Egan.
"Chris approached us about playing with Williamstown in 2009," Curry said.
"After speaking to him he understands that he joins Williamstown on our terms but he obviously is hurting after being delisted and is determined to do everything possible to play AFL football again.
"We think it is a win-win for both the club and Chris and really it is up to him now to back up with performances what he has spoken about.
"Chris feels comfortable playing at Williamstown as he played a number of games with our club, when we were aligned with Collingwood."
Egan played 19 VFL matches and kicked 11 goals in 2008.
