The Bendigo Bombers have added Darren Hulme to its coaching staff for 2009.
The tough-as-nails rover played 110 games with Carlton and will take training for the club's the satellite group in Melbourne. On game day, Hulme will assist Head Coach Adrian Hickmott.
"With his experience and approach to the game he is a welcome addition to our coaching panel," Hickmott said.
Sam Ahmet returns to the Bendigo Bombers coaching staff for 2009. Ahmet's focus will be on the satellite group in Shepparton and he too will be part of the assistant coaching staff on game day.
In other off-field moves at Bendigo, the club has appointed its reserves coach Steve Thomson as its full-time Football Manager. Thompson will also continue to coach the reserves team.
“Under trying circumstances as reserves coach in 2008, Steve has earned the respect of many around the Club," Hickmott said.
"His knowledge of the game, his own playing career and his dedication to the development of the young players will certainly be of great benefit to the club."
