VFL stalwart Nigel Carmody has hung up the boots at Collingwood, while Damien Peverill has joined as an assistant coach.
Before a 17-match stint with Collingwood last year, Carmody played 142-games with the Scorpions and rose to captain the Casey side. Carmody joined the Scorpions in 1998 and was twice runner-up in the Scorpions Gardner-Clark Medal.
A decorated VFL player, Carmody was an onfield general who inspired with his clean skills and insatiable work ethic.
The 29-year-old has for the past two years co-hosted the VFL's own online panel show, V TV.
Peverill played eight seasons at Windy Hill netting 144 AFL games. Peverill has joined the Magpies as an assistant coach to Gavin Brown and he intends to help the young Magpies reach their potential as they fins their feet in the VFL.
