Ace wingman Nick Scanlon has joined the Casey Scorpions for season 2009.
Scanlon hails from Narre Warren and was a star in the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League. Scanlon, who was an integral member of Narre Warren’s three premierships in 2006-08, brings speed and goal kicking ability to the Scorpions midfield.
Scanlon was runner up in Narre Warren’s Best and Fairest in 2008 in addition to a top-four finish in 2007.
Scanlon said he was excited about the opportunity to play elite football.
“I think the time was right to have a crack at VFL level," Scanlon said.
"I have had a lot of team success over the past three years.”
In 2006, Scanlon was the youngest member of Narre Warren’s flag and was still eligible for the Under-18’s final campaign. Scanlon’s honors include vice captain of the Victorian Football Country Football League in 2007 as well as finishing fourth in the League Best and Fairest.
The Casey Scorpions said they were chuffed to gain Scanlon's services.
