Casey has announced the signing of ex-Sydney Swans player Peter Faulks.
Faulks, who stands at 194cm and is a tall defender, is looking at Casey as a pathway to continue his AFL ambitions.
Faulks had a terrific 2008, playing 20 games for Sydney's reserves side in the AFL Canberra competition and was named in the best 12 times. He was an integral part of the Sydney reserves one-point grand final win.
Faulks played his junior football at Oak Park before joining the Calder Cannons development program. He played state football at Under-16 and Under-18 level.
In 2005, he recorded the best standing vertical jump overall at the NAB AFL Draft Camp State Screening Session with a leap of 74cm, as well as a sub-three second 20m sprint (2.93sec).
In 2006, Faulks was selected by the Swans with their third pick at the 2006 NAB AFL Draft. Faulks play consistently for Sydney’s reserves in the AFL Canberra league before he injured his groin towards the end of the season.
Faulks rejoins ex-Calder Cannons teammates Rian McGough and Chris Clay, who also have recently signed with Casey. Together with Gardner Clark Medalist James Wall, the Scorpions will boast four ex-cannons players playing at Casey in season 2009.
