This Sunday, 27th August, the Wolves closed the regular season with a final round performance of 17 wins and 17 losses.

The Under 12 Boys put a ribbon on a terrific regular season with a 3-1 weekend. The U12-Champ Boys secured the #1 seed with a win over East Perth. Hayden Montgomerie, Noah Growden, Zion Ochieng, and Hudson Francis each scored double figures. The U12-2 Boys had already clinched their own #1 seed weeks ago but still pulled off a 58-38 victory over Mandurah. Josh Epple and Lewis Brown with 13 and 11 points respectively. Kamaron Makawa and Kobi Bunt also scored 9 and 8 points to put the team into great position ahead of this week’s qualifying final. The U12-3 Boys had some work to do with tiebreakers, winning 65-46 over Redbacks helped them to clinch the 5th seed heading into this week’s elimination final. The U12-4 Boys had a strong chance to grab the top spot on their ladder but fell to Perry Lakes 40-50. The loss takes us to 3rd on the ladder and puts us on a collision course with Rockingham in an elimination final. A tremendous regular season by our U12 Boys Players and Coaches!

The Under 12 Girls closed the regular season in impressive fashion as well, boasting a 4-0 record. The U12-Champ Girls beat Lakeside 47-22 and that will be their opponent for this weekend as well. The U12-Girls Green clinched 5th place with a win over Hawks. The 49-46 victory is a great result in a close game as we look to take down Willetton White in this week’s elimination final. Emily Harrison dropped 10 points and was joined by each of her teammates in the scoring column including Chloe Van Niekerk’s 8 points and 7 each from Arya Grinceri and Nala Priddis. The U12-4 Girls secured their claim to the 6th seed in division 3. They have had great games versus their finals opponent in the Southwest Slammers, with a win by 1 point in round 1 and a tough 4 point loss in round 10. The U12-Girls White see their season come to a close despite a 44-31 victory over Eagles 1st team. This team of bottom-age players should be pleased with their season, qualifying up and developing in Division 2 in their first year of WABL. They should be emboldened by their success and competitiveness that they displayed week in and week out. Congratulations to Ben Watson and Olivia Basso on a wonderful season with their squad.

The Under 14 Champs Boys fell 48-51 to Cougars. Harrison Connolly, 17, and Aiden Jones, 15, led the team in points in the final round. This team fought valiantly throughout the season and surely developed immensely with the leadership of Head Coach John Kingswood. The u14-2 Boys took a 57-64 loss. James Arnatt and Asthon Thorpe scored in double figures for their team. We are hopeful for the growth and development for this group of players to carry them for years to come. The 14-3 Boys took a 59-73 loss to Flames. We get the chance for a rematch as the 3 seed against this 6th-seeded Flames team. The U14-4 Boys lost 54-61 but still manage to matchup with the Senators in their elimination final. We lost the first game of the year to them by 8 but bounded back with a 10-point win in round 11, setting up quite a good game for this Sunday.

The Under 14 Champ Girls had an impressive 4-point overtime victory over Redbacks. Jade Timoko had 13 points, while T’yanna Keating and Harper Norris each tallied 11. With the win, we secured the 5th spot on a very bunched up ladder and the opportunity to play against Flames, who we had a win and a loss against in the regular season. The U14-2 Girls also managed to claim the 5th spot in their division and will look to make it count versus Eastern Suns Black. We finish 1 loss behind them having lost by 5 and beat them by 16 in the regular season. Our U14-Girls Green took a narrow, 3-point defeat to 3rd seeded Hawks. Jay Wakefield’s team battled fervently all season and it is a testament to their progress that they would be able to take a game down to the wire with such a quality opponent. The U14-Girls White closed their season on a high-note with a 43-23 victory over Slammers. This is their biggest margin of victory on the season and a great capstone to the season that was. Jaylyn Basaran had 16 to pace the team.

The Under 16 Champ Boys pulled out an 86-82 victory over the Cockburn Cougars to lock in the top spot on the ladder headed to the postseason. This sets up a matchup with the 2-seed, Willetton Tigers, in the qualifying final. Taj Gleeson scored 26 points including 4 3’s. Loui Pibworth scored 20 as well as a clutch midrange shot in the final minute. Aiden Bradley had 14 points and sparked the team with incredible defence from the beginning of the game to the end. The U16-2 Boys lost 88-97 in a tough-fought game with 3rd seed Cockburn. With the loss, the U16-2s miss the finals by just 2 games. Jack Goosen had 25 points including 2 3’s. Chad Jarvis had 15 points including 3 3’s. Ethan Jongsma also got into double figures with 11. The U16-3 Boys avenged an 11-point defeat earlier in the year with a 6-pt victory over the Perry Lakes Hawks. These 2 teams will meet again in this week’s elimination final. Hudson Dimond and Owen Baker will look to match their form as they scored 20 points and 17 points respectively. The U16-4 Boys dispatched the Eagles by a score of 76-66. Kai Starr with an impressive 27 point performance, joined by Hudson Rampling’s 12 points. Our Wolves will have an interesting matchup with Hawks 2s in their elimination final. We had an 11-point victory and a 5-point loss to them on the season.

The Under 16 Champ Girls took a narrow defeat to the 2nd seeded Hawks. Aisha Allen and Jannali Nelson each had 13 points as we fell 56-59. We played boldly but suffered out 5th loss of the season by 6 points or less. Our U16-2 Girls were defeated by the #1 seed Lightning. We will matchup with Tigers whom we beat by 16 and were beaten by 1 in regular season contests. The U16-Girls Green were able to lock in their undefeated regular season at 18-0 with a win over Cockburn. We face #2 seed Lightning in the qualifying final. The U16-Girls White advance as the 6th seed in their division despite a loss to Suns by 11 points. Abbie Bowerman had 9 points to lead the team.

The Under 18 Champs Men are through to the elimination final against East Perth Eagles. This is to spite a 94-95 heartbreaker against 2-seed Hawks in Round 18. Max Bennett led all scorers with 18 and he was joined by Caleb Power and Stephan du Toit who each had 15. Each of Stephan’s points came from behind the line with 5 makes for the game. The U18-2 Men lost 77-80 versus the Suns to close the season. The Wolfpack managed to have 6 players with 9 or more points in the defeat. In a Division 3 clash our U18 Men White were victorious over our U18 Men Green. Brodie Duguid had 27 points including 7 triples. Nonetheless, the U18 Men Green advance to play Eagles Red in an elimination final this week. It was an impressive season for our U18 Men White as they qualified into Div 3 with a strong performance in grading and held their own all season, just missing out on finals themselves.

The Under 18 Champs Women finish the season as the 3rd season even after dropping their Round 18 game to the Hawks. Mya Haley had 19 points including 2 triples. The U18-2 Women used their 57-51 win over Redbacks 1s to clinch the #1 seed on tiebreakers. Chloe Goldsmith had 14 points before fouling out and Jorja Montgomerie had 11 points including 2 triples to launch the Wolfpack to victory.  The U18 Women Green also secured their own #1 seed in Round 18, with a record of 13-2. Saarah Hadji had 4 triples en route to 17 points. Jaeda Conradt and Sienna Hirst each had 12 points and 5 additional teammates had 7 points or more in the victory. The U18 Women White saw the end to their season. They played hard and united all season and were a pleasure to watch.

The Under 20 Men have 2 teams in finals. The U20 Champ Men advance to play the Suns. Jack Kingswood had 40 and Beau Gardiner 21 points in a victory over Hills. The U20-2 Men are through to finals behind 23 points from Harrison McGuinness, 13 from Julian Lyttle, 12 from Frederick Maddison, and 11 apiece from Jaemon Yam and Xavier Mills. The U20-2 Men also matchup with Suns whom they defeated by 14 and lost to by 5 during the regular season.

We are incredibly proud to have 24 of our 34 teams qualify for finals. Additionally, we have 6 teams that finished atop the regular season ladder, the most of any club in Western Australia.
