Exciting Port Melbourne forward Robin Nahas has had a brilliant VFL season rewarded with a rookie list birth at AFL club Richmond.
The slightly-framed speedster was taken with selection eight by the Tigers today in the 2008 AFL Rookie Draft.
The Borough star had a blistering 2008 campaign. He won the Fothergill-Round Medal in 2008 for the VFL's rising star, following on from his Frank Johnson Medal winning performance for Victoria against South Australia at the Adelaide Oval in May.
Another VFL player to progress to national competition ranks was Williamstown Best and Fairest Liam Picken, who was snapped up by the Seagulls AFL affiliate the Western Bulldogs.
In the AFL Pre-Season draft, Bendigo Bombers 2008 best and fairest Hayden Skipworth won a place on Essendon's list while Port Melbourne registered player Ben Cousins landed at Richmond. Melbourne took Collingwood VFL player Liam Jurrah with its number one selection.
