Wolfpack WABL teams followed up an impressive 24-9 opening round with a 18-17 record in Round 2.

We start with our U12 boy cohort with an impressive 3-1 weekend including 26 points by Hayden Montgomerie for the U12 Championship Boys. Zion Ochieng and Griff Gardiner with 14 and 11 respectively. Coach Damian Matacz would be proud of his U12-3 Boys team pulling out a 57-49 win over Perry Lakes. 8 of his 10 players registered points including 10 each for Andre Kallis and Alexander Ham.

The U12 girl group had 2-2 results on the weekend. U12 Girls Green with a narrow defeat to a quality Willetton side. One would have to figure that they will be champing at the bit to play in Round 3. The U12 Girls White had quite an impressive run at State Champs and Grading to land themselves in div 2. With that they came against a 1s team from Rockingham in Round 2. We are very confident that these young ladies will continue to develop in the weeks to come.

In the U14 ranks, we managed a record of 4-4 with a few quality victories; our U14-4 Boys beating Cockburn 75-44, including 31 points for Dylan Thompson. The U14-Champs Girls handed the Senators a loss 62-55 on the back of Grace Tomazin with 29 points.

Each of our U16s groups were able to manage 3-1 results as well. On the Girls’ side, Lucy Corden and Alize Smith with 28 and 17 respectively for Coach Dan Beasley’s U16-3s team. The U16-4s, led by Coach Luke Stein, didn’t lose any quarter and each of his players got into the scoring column, spearheaded by Maddison O’Sullivan with 16 points and Andi Morris with 13 points. Not to be outdone, the U16-2s had 4 players in double figures in Rose Wheeler (18), Agook Chol (14), Luca Kuhn (12) and Eva Carpenter (10) in a convincing win versus the Mandurah Magic.

A particular spotlight on the U16-3 Boys with a 95-74 victory that would have pleased Coach Jackson Pickett. Rhys Weir putting up 22, Taj Jeffery tallying 18, and Zak Ryan and Oliver Fisher pitching in 13 apiece. Owen Baker to complete 5 double figure scorers with 10 points.

The 18s division saw some lopsided wins and some nail-biting losses. Balanced scoring for the U18 Champ Girls: Izzy Bassett (17), Mya Haley (13), Kyah Nichols (12), Jasmine Kirby and Grace Gardiner (9) as they handled the Mandurah Magic. Round 3 is sure to see some quality efforts in our U18 squads. 

Wolves’ Jack Kingswood led all scorers with 26 points in an 82-91 defeat to the U20 Perth Redbacks in the Championship division. Meanwhile, in the U20-2s the Wolves took at 17 point defeat to Mandurah Magic. Balanced scoring and team spirit were high and signs of better results to come. Head Coaches Craig Harris and Jacqui Tibbits will be hard at work, preparing their sides for round 3 to come.

The Wolfpack D-League Women continued with their torrid start to the season, knocking off the Eastern Suns 93-66. Laneisha Paddon led all scorers with 22. Ananya Tushir and Olivia Basso each had 17, while Keisha Chng and Jo Odude contributed 16 apiece.
