Neseya back for 2023
The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the re-signing of Neseya Parker-Williams for the 2023 season.
Neseya and the Wolves are fast becoming and iconic duo. Neseya joined the Wolves in 2020 and has been a key part of our core ever since.
In 2022 Neseya had a breakout season under new Coach Marcus Wong where she averaged 16.8 points per game at an impressive 49.5% from the field and 9.3 rebounds per game. After two seasons with the Perth Lynx, Neseya set herself a goal last year to make it back in to the WNBL. Her on-court performance caught the eye of the Townsville Fire WNBL staff where she is now a development player for the 2022-23 season.
Neseya had this to say on why she decided to stay at the Wolves for her third season.
“The culture and the nonstop support from everyone that is part of the Wolfpack made my decision really easy to re-sign back with the club. When you’re in a great environment and with people that want to see you do better and believe I you, it is something special and that is something I wish to remain a part of.”
When asked about signing Neseya, new Head Coach Marcus Wong said.
“I am really excited for Neseya to be coming back, she had a breakout year last season and I think we are only just seeing the surface of what she can do. She brings such great versatility with her ability to shoot with range, get on the rim and post up mismatches. She has also shown she can be a leader and I think we will see her skills in this area grow over the next year too. After a season in the WNBL with the Townsville Fire I know she will improve, and I am thrilled to be able to work with her again to help her develop her game even further.”
Neseya joins Teige Morrell and Chelsea Belcher on the 2023 roster.
