In the men’s the Cougars got the job done against the Saints despite lacking the services of leading scorer Kane de Wit. Jordan Hollit top scored with 26, whilst Toby De Wit (23pts) and Sam Stafford (21pts) also contributed to a rounded team performance. It was a tough night for the Saints missing young studs Jackson Bowden and Harry Mules, Josh Murphy played well with 28 points, and Connal Schultz had his best game of the season with 17.

Led by by 27 points from Simon Berkefeld, the Bulldogs bounced back from a loss last week to topple the Cats by 12 points. It was the Bulldogs defense coming to the fore as they restricted the Bradley brothers to just 26 points between them, well below average, and the Cats only managed 62 as a team. Shaun Lock was solid again with 20 points to assist Berkefeld.

Missing Pioneers captain Tom Daly, the Roos battled valiantly but were overpowered by the league leading Panthers. Nelson Forbes(21pts) and Zach Nulty (20pts) took it to the senior opposition, but it wasn’t nearly enough to match the Panthers spread of scoring, with 6 players scoring in double figures. Oli Thompson was impressive with a season high 26.

Unfortunately, due to a lot of players playing in Adelaide for the BullRoos, the Cats had to settle for a forfeit, but the other women’s match was a barnburner! In a must win contest, the Cougars came out firing against the hot Saints and the game was tight all the way through. Whilst the Saints were right in it, the Cougars eventually got over the line by just 2 points behind 20 from Mikaela Horrigan and 14 for Sophie Miles.
