Congratulations to Buln Buln ruckman Matthew Gray the winner of the 2021 Warragul Country Club Most Valuable Player Award. It would be hard to find a more respected player in country football. Matt is the ultimate seasoned performer. He has represented the VCFL multiple times and a regular representative of both the Gippsland and Ellinbank interleague league teams. He introduced himself to the EDFL in 2005 when he won the Alf Walton medal at Buln Buln before heading to Warragul where he played well over 100 matches before returning to the league in 2014 and winning a second Walton medal in 2015 again at the Lyrebirds. Matt puts his body on the line each week, sets the example for the young players around him and despite turning 36 years of age early this year he has showed few signs of slowing down.
