FV Competitions Update
Following extensive consultation with Clubs, Councils and football stakeholders in recent weeks, the FV Board of Directors met on Wednesday night to consider all available options to determine a roadmap for 2021 season completion.
The FV Community and NPL Competitions teams provided an extensive body of work to the Board, which included valuable feedback from stakeholders, flexible season completion options and milestones for each. Intensive deliberation was undertaken by the Board on each scenario, in particular the implications of each on all stakeholders within football.
Following this process, and with announcements anticipated from the Victorian Government next week, the Board has determined to hold a final decision on each competition until further visibility is provided on the extension or relaxation of restrictions, and the impact on Return To Play conditions.
FV understands the need for our community to have clarity on the 2021 season and the impact on players, Clubs and Associations. It is FV’s absolute priority to provide a transparent update on this as quickly as possible. We sincerely appreciate the patience of our community and will provide clarity across all competitions as our absolute priority following the next lockdown update.
We would also like to acknowledge and send our gratitude to Cricket Victoria, for their willingness to support our community by providing flexibility to facility access.
Until that time, we urge you to continue to follow all government directives, stay connected to your football family and most importantly, stay safe.
