EDFL PLAN FOR REST OF 2021 SEASON

The EDFL Board of Management met tonight to discuss the remainder of the season and the finals series.

Juniors:

The Junior home and away season (R19 and R20) will proceed. The top 5 teams will commence a normal 4-week final’s series the following week as originally planned (28^th August – 18^th September). These matches will be played regardless of limited or no spectators.

Seniors:

The Board of Management agreed to conclude the senior home and away season. Therefore the final two rounds (R19 and R20) are being abandoned. The top 5 teams will proceed to finals, which the Board are hoping can commence as scheduled (28^th August – 18^th September). However, the commencement of each week of finals will be contingent on the State Government ‘Metro’ lockdown restrictions and the guarantee that at least 1,000 spectators* will be able to attend.

*Please note the Board of Management are in the process of registering our finals with the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS). If these applications are approved, it may permit the league to allow over 1,000 spectators at each final.

The EDNA will make an announcement regarding their plan for netball in the coming days.
