6 August 2021
This weeks umpire appointments:
Round 14 – 7 August 2021
Cowell vs Ports at Cowell
Pfitzner – Dunn – Trussell
Central Eyre United vs Kimba Districts at Warramboo
Chester – Baldock – Buckham
Here are the final list of restrictions to take to football on Saturday. It would seem the most important thing we need to worry about is wearing masks to and from going to change, and inside changerooms. Hopefully this level of restrictions will be eased for next week and the finals. The most important thing to remember is we are back playing football again and as umpires to start preparing for the finals.

Restrictions update from SANFL:
We’re pleased to advise that following feedback from the sporting community, that the restrictions announced on Monday in regards to spectators at outdoor community sporting events have been relaxed.
In essence, these restrictions should enable clubs and leagues can run their match days as close to usual (running canteens, BBQS, drink sales etc) with the most significant change being the mandatory wearing of masks for spectators.
Outdoor community sporting events can host spectators under the following conditions:
Maximum of 1,000 spectators permitted (density permitting at 1 person per 2sqm)
All spectators attending outdoor sporting events must wear masks at all times (unless eating or drinking). This applies to all areas of the venue, both inside and outside
Spectators must be seated during consumption of all food and drink
It is also highly recommended that all other persons at the event, including but not limited to players, officials and volunteers also wear a mask
Please note that persons aged 12 and under do not have to wear masks, and that players and officials don’t have to wear masks while participating in the game/exercising. SA Health also outline other circumstances where it might not be possible to wear a mask HERE.
SA Health’s mask messaging is simple - if you can wear a mask, please wear a mask.
To support implementation, SANFL have created an FAQs on masks and spectator management, and posters are also available on the Return to Play website.
Further to the above, just a reminder the following is also in effect:
Singing restrictions remain in place (no club songs in changerooms)
Seated consumption remains (indoors & outdoors)
Masks required to be worn in inside shared public spaces (ie: licenced venues)
Cross border community members can cross the border to participate in sport competition and training (provided within the 70km border bubble with Victoria)
Medical support staff (such as trainers, doctors, physios) must wear a mask while administering player treatment – at training and on game day
Again we remind you of our Key Principles to Return to Play as follows:
Density requirements, and/or maintaining 1.5m apart where possible must be observed where possible
QR Code and Manual Check In Systems in place
Presence of COVID Marshals
“Get In/Get Out” should be observed where possible
Thorough cleaning and sanitisation must occur before and after each training/match day including spot cleaning of changerooms in between user groups, and cleaning of equipment
Hygiene and testing protocols previously implemented will still apply (including no shared drink bottles, lolly bowls etc)
All protocols have been updated on the SANFL Return to Play Website, and we strongly recommend you review this document to ensure you are across all changes that are in place for this upcoming weekend.
SANFL are also developing a range of posters and communications to support clubs and leagues with these changes, and will add these to the Return to Play website – as well as share on our social media platforms.
