Wolfpack Welcomes New Competition & Referee Coordinator
The Wanneroo Basketball Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Luke Mclaughlan to the position of Competition & Referee Coordinator.
Luke comes to the WBA having previously spent time with BWA as the Referee Coordinator for the Perth Metro Basketball League (PMBL) and as Referee Coordinator at Perry Lakes Basketball Association. Luke is currently an NBL1 referee and holds Level 2 referee accreditation. He is also a qualified referee coach and is experienced in managing basketball competitions at both the association and school sport level.
As Competition & Referee Coordinator Luke will assist newly appointed Competition and Programs Manager, Steven De Wet in the management of our domestic competitions as well as focusing on our senior referee training, education, coaching and implementing frameworks for best practice, quality and development of our senior referees.
Luke will also work closely with the JBRA and assist them with their needs in relation to our junior and WABL referees.
Wanneroo Basketball CEO Andrew Summerville said “Luke is an experienced referee and has a great understanding of what it takes to run a successful basketball competition. With the on-going growth of our competitions, it became evident that we needed a further resource to assist the Competition and Programs Manager in the operations and management of our domestic competitions as well as our referee needs. Luke is experienced in both and will complement Stephen and the JBRA in the delivery of our competitions”.
Luke has commenced his duties this week, please welcome him to the Wolfpack.
