Good luck to the EDFL U18 team who will compete in the Gippsland Junior Football carnival at Morwell Football ground at the Morwell Recreation Reserve Travers Street Morwell next Wednesday.
Coach Chris Morse was really pleased with the efforts of all the boys who trained including those who did not make the final squad. Training arrangements had its difficulties due to the Covid lockdown a wild storm the other week back but he is confident the team is well prepared after a good performance in a practice match against a Garfield U18 team on Wednesday night.
The EDFL would like to thank the Director of its Juniors Steve Pratt for his efforts to organise the match along with the Garfield Football club for their cooperation and use of their outstanding ground. We would also like to thank the GUA for providing the umpires for the night.
Congratulations to Ryan Atherton from Ellinbank who was named as the U18 captain on Monday night at the Jumper presentation night and also to Alex Henshall from Poowong who was named vice captain. While not an overly tall team the EDFL believe it has the ability to provide enough run, carry and pressure to equip itself well and is looking forward to the opening match against the WGFNC.
The boys would be delighted if EDFL followers, parents and friends can get along to Morwell to support the team next Wednesday.
