With ongoing changing circumstances in Victoria, including restrictions potentially being eased in Regional Victoria in the coming days, we recommend ongoing monitoring of SA Health directions as outlined here. Under current restrictions any person who has been in Victoria since 20 May (who has returned to SA) must abide by existing restrictions, as well as continue to monitor the exposure sites until notified otherwise. Cross border community members (those living within 70km of the SA/Vic Border) may also subject to restrictions if they have travelled outside of the 70km exemption zone in the past 14 days. All clubs and leagues should take this opportunity to review Government issued COVIDSafe Plans and SANFL Return to Play protocols to ensure you’re doing all you can to protect your local community. Key COVIDSafe principles are:
- Adherence to density (currently at 3 persons per 4sqm or 75%)
- Ensure contact tracing methods are in place, and that patrons are using them! (QR codes and manual records)
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleaning
- Presence of COVID Marshals
- Regularly reminding players, coaches, officials, volunteers and spectators not to attend if they’re unwell – and to seek testing where relevant symptoms apply
Thanks again for your continued compliance and leadership in delivering COVIDSafe environments in our footy clubs across SA.

COACH SELECTION TO TEAM SHEETS
The national ‘grace period’ for coaches to attain accreditation and register through the CoachAFL platform for the 2021 Community Football Season has now passed. As of Tuesday June 1, the ‘no official’ option in the coach dropdown field on team sheets has been removed. For a summary of what you need to know, click here. 93% of teamsheets submitted had an accredited coach selected on the weekend of May 28 - 30. It is essential that coaches have joined CoachAFL in 2021, selected the correct club (to the correct league/competition) in their Coaching Profile and completed their accreditation course. If you have any queries, please contact the Coaching Support Team at coaching@afl.com.au
