EDFL ROUND 9 on SATURDAY 5TH JUNE IS ABANDONED

This communication is to advise there will be no Ellinbank & District Football this Saturday 5^TH June (R9) as a result of the latest State Government Covid restrictions. All going well the seven day lockdown and associated restrictions will be eased in both greater Melbourne and in the regions in time for our round 10 next Saturday 12 June.

It is with regret we cannot proceed this week at Junior level. To arrange three matches this Saturday at both U16.5 & 18.5 would require a re-jig of the draw but at short notice and with other constraints such as only 50 patrons, the latest Covid rules, some clubs short on player, official and volunteer numbers not to mention our thirds competition is at U18.5 levei (and community sport is only permitted at U18 level in the regional areas) there are too many issues to overcome.

With regards to the junior competition should our Cardinia Shire clubs Catani and Lang Lang not be able to play in the upcoming weeks plans are afoot to have the team that has the bye to play in order to roll out three matches at U16.5 & 18.5 from R11 onwards where possible and subject to the consent of clubs.
