Junior College action continues as James Moors concludes university season

The curtain has come down on the NCAA university season for our Harbour representatives.

Last player standing, James Moors and Colorado State University Rams, had to settle for fourth place at the end of season Men’s National Invitational Tournament (NIT) after going down 76-74 to Louisiana Tech in the third/fourth play-off game.

It was a super competitive contest epitomised by the fact that Louisiana’s winning basket came in the final second of the game.

James scored 6 points to cap a very encouraging freshman season for the former Westlake and Harbour man.

He finished the campaign playing all 28 games for the Rams, making 21 starts. He scored 166 points at 5.9ppg and finished one rebound short of 100 for the season. His 19 blocks were the second most for the team.

Junior College basketball continues and Keeley Tini continued her sparkling form with 30 points (8/15 3PG) as Williston State defeated Lake Region 83-64.

Not to be outdone teammate Jazz Kailahi-Fulu dropped 28 points (plus 5 blocks and 6 rebounds) in a 75-68 win against Bismarck State – Keeley had a mere 15 points in that one!

The pair are the two leading scorers for Williston with Keeley averaging 16.0ppg and Jazz 14.8ppg.

Also in good form is Hannah Wentworth. She led the way with 17 points as Utah State Eastern iced Snow College and followed that with a game high 22 points (5/11 3PG) in the 84-59 win against Southern Nevada.

Parehuia Delamere cleaned up 10 boards, snared 4 steals and scored 6 points as Western Texas thumped Howard College 69-36. Jordyn Maddix knocked down a couple of threes and grabbed a pair of boards in the win.

Rashaan Smith posted 4 points and 8 rebounds as Dawson College wrapped up conference play with an 86-41 demolition of Dakota College.
