The 2008 Yeppoon Camp will once again be happening again this year commencing on Friday the 14th of November. The camp will be run over three days with young AFL Capricornia players given the chance to showcase there skills in front of Richmond Tigers Assistant Coach Craig McRae. Current Richmond player Dean Putt will also be attending the camp and will be talking about the demands of an AFL Footballer as well as what is required to make it to an AFL list. Jim Urquhart from AFL Queensland will also be attending the weekend.
Camp attendees will be put through skills and fitness testing such as the beep test, vertical leap and 20m sprint on the Friday afternoon. Testing will be coordinated by CQ University Human Movement lecturer Aaron Scanlan. On Saturday Craig McRae will be running a skills session and will be talking in the afternoon at the coaching course about his experience as a coach and the different roles they play. On the Sunday camp attendees will be divided into teams for a nine a side competition. Positions to attend the camp are filling up.
