The Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the re-signing of Amy Kidner for the 2021 NBL1 West season.

The 6’1” forward has been a part of the Wolves for 10 years, in between her long-term Wolves commitment she attended college in North Colorado, USA. After graduating college Amy came back to the Wolves to further her semi-professional career. In the 2019 SBL season, Amy averaged 11 points per game at an impressive 49% from the field. Unfortunately, a knee injury put Amy’s basketball career on hold for 18 months but we are ready to have Amy back in 2021.

Amy spoke to the Joondalup Wolves on her thoughts about re-signing for 2021.

“I have been involved with the club for most of my life! From watching my Dad coach the Men's SBL team to playing domestic for Greenwood Giants and WABL for the Wolves. I am now coming into my 10th year in the Women's program - so even though I am only 26 I feel part of the furniture here.”

“I am really excited for the upcoming season. We have a great group of girls and a dedicated coaching staff. More than anything I can’t wait to step back onto the court after what will be almost 2 years since I tore my ACL.” Added Kidner

Joondalup Wolves Women’s Head Coach Charles Nix shared his thoughts on Amy re-signing for the NBL1 West season.

“To see the work that Amy has done over the last 18 months in her rehabilitation has been inspiring to me and our group. She made every session last season and did her work on the sidelines while still being involved with the group and impacting with her energy and intellect. Amy has been a captain of our club and a real heart and soul leader for us, really setting a standard both in games and at training. We’ll ease Amy back into the team but expect that she’ll be a very important piece for us as we strive to compete for another championship.”

“She’s so hard to guard and has really worked on a more consistent perimeter shot which we have started to see translate into results recently. I expect that she will be a more complete player with the work she has done and even more driven than she was previously. I love working with Amy and look forward to her being back on court with the girls.” Added Nixy.

Amy will be joining Kayla Steindl, Nes’eya Williams, Izzy Miotti, Georgia Denehey, Chelsea Belcher and Amber Land on the Wolves Women’s roster in 2021.
