Dan Fotu enjoyed one of the finest games, against arguably the toughest opposition, in his three-year college career as St Mary’s, California. 

St Mary’s gave #1 ranked Gonzaga as much as they could handle before going down 73-59. Dan scored a team high 15 points on 6 of 10 shooting (3/5 3PG) and added 7 rebounds whilst playing a massive 38 minutes. 

Sam Mennenga was within a rebound of his first double-double for Davidson College as the Wildcats defeated St Joseph’s 80-66.

Sam finished with 9 rebounds to accompany 15 points, knocking down 3 from 5 from beyond the three-point arc as Davidson moved to 2-2 in the Atlanic-10.

James Moors, like Mennenga a freshman, scored a season high 14 points as Colorado State University thumped San Jose State 88-61 with CSU now 7-1 in the Mountain West Conference league.

In NCAA Division II Will Heather, leading the team in assists, dished a career high 8 dimes as Dallas Baptist University eased past Oklahoma Christian 90-79. The former Rosmini forward added 4 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks for DBU that are 7-1 in the Lone Star Conference.

Reihanna Maxwell-Topia’s 8 points (2/4 3PG) and 3 rebounds helped St Joseph’s Fighting Saints to a 68-63 road win at Trinity Christian.

Akienne-Tera Reid accumulated a tidy 11 points, 4 rebounds, a pair of assists and a brace of steals as Virginia Commonwealth moved to 4-0 in the Atlantic-10 Conference with a dominant 60-41 win against George Mason.

That was followed by a 55-49 loss to Massachusetts with Tera compiling 9 points, 6 boards and 4 assists.

Portland had a win at San Francisco and a loss at Santa Clara with Emme Shearer recording  6 points plus 3 steals in both games – Portland 4-2 in West Coast Conference play.

In a Junior College pre-season game Williston State College, featuring a duo of Harbour Breeze players, lost 74-53 to Dawson College.

The duo made scoring contributions for Williston – Jazz Kailahi-Fulu scored 12 points and  Keeley Tini added 6 rebounds to 5 points.

In other news Yanni Wetzell made a stunning start to his professional career with South East Melbourne Phoenix. The Phoenix went down 116-108 at Adelaide 36ers but Yanni put together an impressive double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds and 3 steals.
