The Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the re-signing of former Perth Lynx Georgia Denehey for the 2021 NBL1 West season.

The 5’5’ guard signed on with the Perth Lynx in 2018 and joined the Wolves in 2019. Georgia has shared minutes both on and off the ball and will be a major factor in the teams ability to play fast this NBL1 West season. Georgia is a leader that doesn’t disappoint during a game. She is definitely one to watch this NBL1 West season!

Georgia spoke to the Joondalup Wolves on her thoughts about re-signing for 2021.

“I chose to return to the wolves for the upcoming NBL1 season for many reasons. First and foremost, I absolutely love the girls and the coaching/support staff that are at this club. The girls were so welcoming of me when I first moved up in 2019 and I couldn’t imagine myself playing anywhere else. Nixy and the rest of the coaching staff have provided me with a system that has both challenged me to grow but also suited my skill set and I love the style we play. Secondly, the club is as professional as they come. The facilities and resources we have available to us are amazing and the support we receive from not just the board, but all the volunteers is phenomenal. I can’t wait to see what we achieve as a club in the first NBL1 season and the exposure that is going to come with finally being a National branded competition.”

Joondalup Wolves Women’s Head Coach Charles Nix shared his thoughts on Georgia re-signing for the NBL1 West season. 

“Re-signing Georgia was a high priority for me in the off season, she’s been an outstanding contributor to our success over the last two seasons and brings an energy on defence that is unmatched in our league. I believe she is the premier perimeter defender in our league and is still improving in that area. She has put a great deal of work in the off season to expand her game and I’m really excited to see what she can achieve this year.”

“Georgia is a super leader for us and as she grows this is becoming more and more prevalent. I expect Georgia to really step up this season and prove to the league that she is not only a great defender but also a threat on offence with her ability to stretch the floor, finish at the basket and her speed in transition.” Added Nixy.

Georgia will be joining Kayla Steindl, Nes’eya Williams and Izzy Miotti on the Wolves Women’s roster in 2021.
