WBA Board Appoint New Member

The Board of the Willetton Basketball Association is excited to advise the WBA community that after completing a thorough and enjoyable process, Mark Rich has been appointed to the WBA Board as a board appointed member, effective immediately. Mark will bring his professional skills and experience in finance to assume oversight over the financial management aspects of the Board’s strategic plan.

Mark has previously been heavily involved in a voluntary capacity at WBA as the Chairperson of the Representative Teams Committee (RTC). The RTC’s main purpose was to oversee all Willetton Tigers representative teams who compete at the WABL and SBL levels. In this role, Mark always acted with great enthusiasm and in the best interests of the representative teams and WBA.

The RTC was one of the two key committees in place at WBA prior to the recent organisational and committee restructure, and Mark as Chairperson played a key role in the continued development of our WABL and SBL programs during his time chairing the RTC.

“I’m excited and honoured to continue with the WBA in a new capacity, alongside a diverse and talented board, staff and volunteers” said Rich when asked about his appointment.

“The WBA now have the best facilities available in the State to provide a sporting experience like no other and I look forward to helping WBA achieve their new strategic plan”.

WBA Board Chairperson Cameron Tovey had the following to say about the appointment of Rich to the WBA board “We are really excited to have Mark join us on the Board. He brings such a strong set of skills and experience in that financial management space, plus his recent tenure on other committees means he is well placed to come in and help us achieve our strategic plan. Mark is a great person, most importantly, and his alignment with our values means he will be a good fit on the Board.”
