Senior Coach Payments
Community Football have fielded a number of enquiries relating to coaching contracts and payments for season 2021. If you are unsure about the regulations please contact Community Football for a ruling.
Multi-year contracts entered into prior to 2020
Any club who has entered into a multi-year contract with a player or coach that is in breach of the Regulation 31 changes is asked to contact the Country Football Operations Manager prior to February 1st.
Multiple Coach arrangements and Regulation 31
While a cap has been introduced to limit the payment to a Senior Coach to a maximum of $20,000 per season, existing regulations relating to coaching payments have remained. In that regard, a club can only have one (1) Senior Coach who is paid to undertake the duties of a Senior Coach. This is captured below:
31.5.1 “Senior Coach” means the senior coach of the Club’s “A” grade team and does not include assistant coaches, coaches of the (Reserve “B”) grade or any lower grade team or junior coaches. There shall only be one Senior Coach of the Club whose duties must include developing and implementing the training and tactical playing regime for the Club and the taking of majority of training sessions, pre-game, half time and quarter time break addresses including overseeing the tactical processes on Match Day and is named the Senior Coach on Club records.
