30 June 2020
With the shift to the next stage of the State Government’s Roadmap on Monday 29 June, SANFL can now confirm the following:
- Access to showers is now permitted (protocols apply)
- No caps on spectators permitted at venues, provided density requirements of 1 person per 2sqm are met
- Any venue that wishes to host over 1,000 people must submit a COVID Management Plan to SA Health for approval
- Note: the State Government is yet to release details on the process and requirements to lodge a COVID Management Plan. SANFL will advise when this is available and provide relevant directions.
SANFL has updated the Return to Play website with protocols and a cleaning checklist to support access to showers, as well as tools to assist clubs in understanding what their spectator capacity may be.
Further to previous lifting of restrictions and correspondence, SANFL reiterate the following:
- Sale of food and beverage, including alcohol permitted
- Access to changerooms and toilets permitted for essential personnel (players, coaches and trainers)
- Records of participants/spectators are not required
- Competition and full-squad training permitted
We encourage clubs and leagues to watch the education videos available on the Return to Play website, as well as attend tomorrow night’s COVIDSafe Club Webinar – Wednesday, 30 June 2020 at 6:00pm – via the link (a recording will be made available for those unable to attend): https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89303972556
Finally, well done - as a result of the hard work and dedication from our leagues and clubs, we are now positioned to return to competition in an environment which is extremely viable. All the best and good luck to those that have or are commencing their season in the coming weeks.
