The Directors of the Mortlock Football League, in conjunction with club presidents, held a meeting on 5th June 2020 to consider the viability and merits of commencing the 2020 season. Regrettably the decision was made to cancel the season in the long-tern financial and sustainability interests of all clubs and the League as a result of the continueing restrictions associated with Covid-19. There was a lot of discussion around the options that were submitted to all clubs, and with 3 clubs not in a viable position to play in a half hearted sesason, along with no hockey and netball playing under the proposal, clubs were not willing to lose their community involvement and integrity of the family orientated league that we currently have in place, along with the additions game day requirements on our volunteers to confirm to all the covid-19 policies that are remaining and must be adhered to.
