Message from League Executive:
President Matthew Cook and I have had a conversation about the current situation and we feel it would be completely irresponsible of our League not to follow the advice and recommendations of the SANFL, AFL and other authorities and suspend the season until after 31st May.
This also means clubs should cancel training or other functions until there is further advice.
There will be more information to come in the days ahead and I will forward as much as I can to clubs as soon as it comes through.
We need to consider possible scenarios for our sporting season going forward, but we have plenty of time to consider these and we don’t need to make any rushed or rash decisions at the moment, nothing can be seen as set in concrete, we are in a very fluid environment, with change happening way more rapidly than we are used to dealing with.
The most important thing we can do at the moment is look after ourselves, our families and our communities, heed the medical advice and be as prepared as we can for whatever scenarios are going to be presented to us in the coming days weeks and months ahead.
Any questions, please don’t hesitate to call us.
