Safeguarding Children and Young People Procedure
Over the last 12 months significant change has been implemented as to how our clubs approach working with childrenchecks and the way we appoint and engage volunteers.
SANFL has developed a Safeguarding Children and Young People Framework to support clubs creating and promoting child safe environments.
Attached below is the Safeguarding Children & Young People Club Procedure.
SANFL requires clubs to review their current practices against the procedure and ensure we are compliant with both our legislative obligations and our commitment to deliver safe and fun footy experiences to our junior members.
The new legislation captures all employees and volunteers of sport and recreation clubs and associations where there are “services or activities provided in the course of the operation of clubs and associations with a significant membership of, or involvement by, children”, regardless of whether or not they actually work with children or have any contact with children.
