At the AGM held 10th February 2020, the Affiliate Delegates voted to induct Maurie Soars of Townsville as our 27th Life Member.

A brief history of Mauries involvement with AFL Masters is as follows

Maurie has been involved with AFL Masters since 1998 when he was involved in the organisation and playing of the first Super Rules game in Townsville.

AFL Masters Townsville President 2013 - 2016 and 2018

MAFQ Superman of the Year 2014

MAFQ Country Director 2016-2019

Chair of the 2019 Townsville Organising Committee for the National Masters Carnival
