Child Safety
The AFL is strongly committed to providing a sporting environment that is safe, supportive and friendly for children and young people.
Our commitment extends not just to minimise risk or danger but also to encourage our organisations to build an environment that is not only fully compliant with legal and regulatory requirements, but where children and young people can fully benefit from the opportunity sport offers.
It is essential everyone involved with sport in Australia understands the important legal and governance responsibilities they have in relation to child safety. This includes boards, committees, club administrators, volunteers, coaches, parents and participants.
AFL Safeguarding Children Policies
The AFL has developed a Policy, Commitment Statement, Code of Conduct and Report Procedure documents relating to Safeguarding Children and Young People within our Sport as well as the ablity for any member of the public to make a report to the AFL relating to an allegation of behaviour that may contravene the AFL's Safeguarding Children and Young Person Policy or the AFL's Respect and Responsibility Policy.
To access these important documents or the ability to make a report please click on the AFL Safeguarding Children link below.

What's New
You can now turn registrations off and on by age group in Footyweb
One of the major enhancements to Footyweb over the off-season for Clubs is the ability to now turn off registrations at your club for a particular age group or gender, this is referred to as Form Restrictions.
You may use this functionality if a particular age group or gender has reached the number of allowable players in each team and such you do not want anyone else to be able to potentially register for that specific age group or gender.

Handy Tip
The AFL in partnership with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) has launched a free new concussion decision support and recovery management App for Juniors aged 5-18 called ‘HeadCheck’.
The HeadCheck Concussion App has been developed to help Trainers, Coaches or Parents/Guardians to recognise the symptoms of a suspected concussion and its severity.
The App also assists Parents/Guardians in managing their child’s recovery program based on the symptoms displayed as well as guide the Parents/Guardians on their child’s safe return to school, training and games.
The HeadCheck Concussion App is free and is now available to download for iPhone and Android so we strongly recommend all Trainers, Coaches or Parents/Guardians download this fantastic App.
