This Friday, in a first for Victorian football, the TAC Cup and VFL Grand Finals will be played as a special double bill in footy’s 150th year.
It is the first time both will be played under lights at the Telstra Dome.
The TAC Cup Grand Final between Murray Bushrangers and Dandenong Stingrays kicks off at 4pm followed by the VFL Grand Final between Port Melbourne and North Ballarat at 7.40pm.
Tickets are just $25 for adults and thanks to EastLink, children enter free for the best in state senior football plus the nation’s premier Under-18 competition.
Also, the inaugural EastLink Cup grand final and the 2008 Sherrin Superkick final will be staged.
AFL Victoria CEO Peter Schwab encouraged footy fans to get along and enjoy two big grand finals.
“We think it’s unique and a great opportunity to bring both games to a great stadium likes Telstra Dome,” Schwab said.
“Not everyone gets a ticket to the big game on Saturday so it’s great opportunity to come along to see some fantastic young talent in the TAC Cup and the VFL.”
Schwab wished all competing clubs the best of luck for the big night.
“Dandenong can win its first ever flag but faces stiff opposition against Murray, who lost only two games for the TAC Cup season,” Schwab said.
“Port Melbourne can break a 26-year premiership drought while North Ballarat can carve its own slice of history with its first flag in the VFL.”
Tickets are now available through the Ticketmaster Network online at www.ticketmaster.com.au or call 136 100 or at the Telstra Dome Box Office, which is located on the concourse outside Gate 2.
