The West Coast Hawks finished the season pretty much as they have played all year, dominating the game in a fast uncompromising style. No passengers with everyone contributing as the Hawks increased their margin all day, finally 103 ponts a new League Grand Final record and surpassing their own record margin of 98 points set in 2009.
Congratulations to gun midfielder Jess Kenny winning the PA Mathews Medal as Best Player in the Grand Final.
Good crowd in attendance and well catered by hosts Elliston, as they always do. The Magpies had no answers to the speed and work ethic of the Hawks, determined not to let this one slip.
The engine room worked at treat for the mighty Hawks, Jess Kenny, Dylan Kelsh, Jack Burton all in the best, Jake Mc Evoy another wonderful display, Marc Mc Evoy playing anywhere asked. Strong rebounding defence and highly functional forwards, Braden Holmes with five and Mark Dolling four leading the score feasting, plenty of willling helpers there too!
Tough day at the office for Wudinna United, tried hard but couldnt get their mojo going! Jonty Seal again high in the best along with Ian Jericho, what recruits they have been! Ryan Lymn a star on the rise from his wing, Matt Greatbatch tough and hard at it, Dan Foster plenty to do in defence and Remi North worked hard. Izaac Boylan two goals, but also still sore from last weeks Preliminary Final.
Very well deserved spoils for the Hawks, a huge day for the club, three premierships and plenty to celebrate.
Congratulations as we salute the 2019 Mid West Football League Premiers:
