Congratulations to Jack Burton from the West Coast Hawks, a run away winner of the Mid West Mail Medal for 2019. Western Districts Broadie Chandler has won the Presidents Medal as runner up to the Mail Medal. Both players coming off of stellar seasons and will have a huge say in their teams finals chances. Mitchell Gum has followed up his 2018 Mail Medal with the JV Day best under 21 player. Mitchell Gum also receives the Flow FM Most Valuable Player award as voted by clubs, which will be presented on Grand Final day.
Evergreen Hawk forward Braden Holmes wins the JH Mc Kenna trophy for the Leagues leading goalkicker with 60 goals. Braden another Mail Medallist in Mid West when at Wirrulla, and providing huge value at the Hawks in recent times after a spell in Far West FL
The Montgomerie Medal has been won by Wudinna United’s David Moyse, dominating the count and the second time winner of this award. Winner of the Bob Whetstone Medal as runner up is Damien Johnson of West Coast Hawks, interspersing with A Grade games through the season.
The Colts Lockwood Medal has been won by Jacob Newton of Elliston. Supremely skilled athlete, Jacob’s star is on the rise, he also wins the Under 16 and Under 13 Mid Season Comp Best and Fairest. The Doug Fox Medallist is speedster Jacob Baldock from the West Coast Hawks, another player with a huge future.
The Mid Season Competition Under 16 was won by Jacob Newton as mentioned above, and runner up Best and Fairest Darci Best of Wirrulla. Darci is a prolific ball winner and follows up a Lockwood Medal win in 2018
The Mid Season Competition Under 13 was jointly won by Jacob Newton and Balyn O’Brien of Central Eyre. The famous O’Brien name again, Balyn is a clever athlete, great in the midfield and handy goal kicker. Wirrulla’s Harley Olsen has won the runner up Best and Fairest and continues to play great football in the under 16s.
