Parkes Soccer Goes Pink To Support The McGrath Foundation
Parkes & District Amateur Soccer Association will be turning pink on Saturday 31 August 2019 in support of the McGrath Foundation’s mission to raise money to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia and increase breast health understanding and awareness.
The wider Parkes region can also get involved by coming down to Harrison Park during the month of August to make a donation to the McGrath Foundation or attend the main fundraising day on Saturday 31 August 2019.
McGrath Foundation Ambassador and Director, Tracy Bevan, says the McGrath Foundation continues to be blown away by the support from Australian communities, which directly helps the Foundation in its mission to ensure every family in Australia experiencing breast cancer has access to a breast care nurse no matter where they live – and always free.
“We are proud to have funded 135 McGrath Breast Care Nurses working nationally who, together, have supported more than 75,000 families going through breast cancer. Events like this are truly helping us to make a difference; we couldn’t do it without you,” Tracy said.
Event organiser, Kath Went, said everyone involved with the Open Ladies competition is excited to make a difference in the battle against Breast Cancer by supporting the wonderful work of the McGrath Foundation.

ABOUT THE MCGRATH FOUNDATION
Ours is a story with simple – but well-known – beginnings. It started with Jane and Glenn McGrath’s very public experience with breast cancer, and has become one of Australia’s most recognised and respected charities, the McGrath Foundation.
Jane McGrath’s experience with her breast care nurse set the mission for the Foundation, which has become an enduring commitment to support thousands of women and men (and their families) every day, no matter where they live – for free. Since 2005, more than 75,000 families have been supported by a McGrath Breast Care Nurse.
We raise funds to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia, as well as lending our voice to increasing breast health understanding and awareness.
