The Apprenticeship Factory KDL is currently in discussions with their 15 clubs about forming 2 competitions under the KDL banner for 2020.
Seven clubs are actively involved in a push for a competition and are looking for others to potentially join them as we strive to create a 10-team competition, to include Under 14 football and 11 and Under netball. The remaining clubs would continue in the structure that is currently in place.
A discussion was held with a focus on the need for another district competition in the region, given the numbers of clubs in each local league.
It is extending an offer for clubs not currently in the league to join its ranks, which, if favourably received, would lead to a league with two competitions.
‘‘Our league has AFL Goulburn Murray’s backing to peruse the next stage of discussions,’’ said KDL President Fraser Kerrins.
"The inclusion of C Reserve, 13 & Under Netball this year has increased participation and families through the gates this year which is positive for clubs and the local communities."
"The league ideally wants to encourage family participation and development of junior pathways within clubs with the inclusion of an Under 14 football competition."
The KDL Board stressed that two competitions would not be geographically determined but on the best fits for clubs for each competition.
Any other club that would like to be involved in discussions for a 2nd competition with the Kyabram District League is encouraged to contact KDL President Fraser Kerrins.
