GOTAFE GVL senior netball coach Dylan Nexhip was full of praise for his team.
“I’m extremely proud of the playing group for their performance and the result was fitting of the effort they put in. The girls put out a high-quality brand of netball all day and really showed the high level of netball the GV league encompasses”, stated Nexhip. “The girls combined well all day, with all eleven players playing their role throughout the day. The mix of experience and youth really worked in our favour, with the girls supporting each other on and off the court all day.”
“The performance the girls put out in the final was extraordinary - to beat a team that beat us by 14 in the rounds was unbelievable,” added Nexhip.
GOTAFE GVL Chairman David Roff, who watched the team’s success at Frankston, echoed Dylan’s sentiments.
“Our girls put up a tremendous effort yesterday and it was particularly pleasing to see them reverse preliminary round defeats against the Hampden FNL and the Ovens & Murray FNL, when it mattered in the semi final and grand final,” mentioned Roff. “The commitment shown by the players and all coaching staff, particularly Dylan, Di Hanslow and Jacinta Todd over months of preparation has been outstanding. Our 15 & Under and 17 & Under teams also performed admirably, with both teams unfortunately exiting at the semi final stage,” stated Roff.
