AFL Canada has opened the application window to apply for funding from May 1 - 31, 2019.
AFL Canada's grant program is designed to encourage the growth and development of Australian Rules Football in Canada. Any member of AFL Canada may apply for a grant to assist in the general development of Australian Football and for the general development of Australian Rules Football in their region.
AFL Canada has two grant classifications:
1. General Grants
General grants shall be focused on developing and expanding the game in a particular region (i.e. essential equipment, development of permanent facilities, clinics and junior development). Grants are not intended for ancillary equipment, wages, field rental, uniforms or consumables. Applicants should consider contributions from other sources (i.e. matching funds) and consider setting KPIs related to grant applications,
particularly with regard to ongoing grants
2. New Club Grants
Current or prospective registered leagues or teams may apply for a grant to assist in the start-up of a new Australian Rules Football club. The applicant must demonstrate ongoing intent to develop Australian Rules football in that region.
