Hawks Say It’s Time To Reunite

Every game in the new NBL1 league is a big event but July 13th promises to be a special night for the Ringwood Hawks.

The Hawks will be hosting the Launceston Tornadoes and North West Tasmanian Thunder on that night but the game will also be a chance for all current and former Hawks to get together for a Club Reunion.

“We are hoping to get anyone who has ever played or coached or even just supported the Club to come down on the 13th.” Club President Tim Mottin said.

“Our Club has 35 years if history and it would be great to get as many people back to say hello.”

The night will also give the Club a chance to celebrate the Club’s first ever Senior Championship with members of the 1999 Hawks team in attendance. This year is the 20th anniversary of that historic team that featured Hawks greats including Damien Smith, Ben Quick, Simon Lilley, Steve Harris, Jason and Mark Eversteyn and imports Ryan Miller and Mark Rich.

The Hawks will present the 1999 team retrospective Championship rings and are hoping to have as many of the team on hand to accept them. Invitations have been sent to Miller and Rich who are hopeful of making the trip.

The Hawks are back in action this Saturday night and will feature in their first ever NBL1 Game of the week. The Hawks men will host the Eltham Wildcats, the team they beat last year in the 3 game Grand Final Series that was an instant classic. The Lady Hawks remain undefeated after 3 games but also have a massive challenge coming at them from a much improved Wildcats team.

Another large crowd is expected at The Rings so the Hawks remind you to arrive early and do not forget that every NBL1 is livestreamed.
