League leaders Balcatta SC left it late to snatch a 1-1 draw against a spirited 10 man Armadale side in yesterday’s National Premier League Western Australia encounter at Alfred Skeet Reserve.
Armadale went down to 10 men in the 34th minute after Michael Lawson was given his marching orders for two bookable offenses in the space of 15 minutes.
Armadale sat deep and frustrated the visitor with Shubham Mokala looking most to break their stout defence.
But with 15 mins to go Armadale took the lead when Josh Kuser caught Ali Nazary’s deep corner flush with an arrowing volley into the bottom corner.
The goal put more impetus into the match as Balcatta pushed for an equaliser and left plenty of space for Joshua Cortes and Adriano Jelenovic to exploit.
With three minutes of normal time to play Adam Zimarino found Mokala at the far post who finished a timed volley with aplomb to set up a frantic final minutes.
Both teams pushed for a winner but it was Armadale who came closest with Balcatta needing Calum O’Neil and John Kearney making goal line clearances to leave points shared.
