Club Statement
The Chambers Franklyn Joondalup City Wolves have today been notified by the WA State Basketball League (SBL) Commission of a breach of SBL By-Law 4.5.2 (a) – Player Contact Prohibition.
Having been directly contacted by a female opposition athlete seeking guidance and opportunity, our club’s sole intent was to assist the young athlete and establish a relationship based upon welfare and support.
We now recognise that this activity did contravene the rules that govern our League, and we respect the Commission’s role in enforcing these rules, as an integrity measure.
We accept the SBL Commission’s penalty in full.
The Joondalup Wolves have requested consideration by the SBL Commission to donate the $1000 penalty to the club’s preferred charity partner, Cancer Council WA.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
