Paul Satterley, head coach of the Northern Knights, has formally announced his resignation from his position last weekend.
Satterley has taken up a senior role with Dons Smallgoods/KRC, which has made it difficult for him to continue in his role in the TAC Cup.
AFL Victoria High Performance Manager Anton Grbac said Satterley would be a loss.
"Paul has coached the Knight the past two seasons and is highly regarded for his coaching abilities and his empathy for players," Grbac said.
"As a past graduate of the TAC Cup with the Western Jets, Paul understands the challenges that confront players as they pursue their football ambitions and try to balance all the other aspects of their lives at the same time.
"Paul developed strong relationships with staff at the Knights and at the Western Jets as an assistant and his passion for coaching is eveident.
"We wish Paul and his family all the best of health and happiness moving forward."
Applications are now being accepted for the Northern Knights head coaching position online at www.afl.com.au/careers
