Open letter to Mid West Football and Netball Community
20 February 2019
A SANFL Community Football League’s Presidents Meeting in Adelaide on the weekend 17/18 February 2019 has instructed that Community Football is not to be played on the weekend of the State Country Football Championships. This is a regulation anyway, but leaves Mid West in a situation that we are squeezed to fit in a 15 game season.
Matter needs to be resolved as soon as possible to allow for season planning.
Some suggestions have been raised to place on the table for club delegates to consider at the League Meeting of 25 February 2019. Anyone with any thoughts or ideas are most welcome to provide a suggestion for the meeting to:

Some options for consideration
Option 1
Start a week earlier on 6 April 2019
Full 15 rounds as programmed
2nd and 1st Semi Final remains Sat/Sunday
Option 2
Play all round 10 (formerly 13 July 2019) matches on the Kinlough Cup weekend – Sunday 7th July 2019
Option 3
Remove a round for 2019 and play a 14 game season
Suggestion:
- Abolish Round 15 all together (Central Eyre, Elliston, Wudinna United home games)
- The two weeks (Kinlough and State Champs) will be both bye weekends
- Rounds 9 to 14 are all played a week later than originally programmed
- 2nd and 1st Semi Final remains Sat/Sunday
- Move the round five CE home match v WCH from Warramboo to Kyancutta, which means Kyancutta 4 home matches, Warramboo 3 home matches plus 2nd semi (4 matches each). Central Eyre Elliston and Wudinna United would effectively forego a home match, but each of our six clubs will host seven home games for the season
