The final nomination for this prestigious award is Les Stuart from the Port Melbourne Colts Football Club. In the nomination letter Colts had this to say about Les
Les is part of the senior committee and is head trainer. Match days he would be at the ground well before 8 o'clock to pad the posts and do a ground inspection. He then checks and cleans the umpires, visitors and home rooms before and after games. Les would then prepare for the day ahead. Les has also been involved as a trainer for the interleague teams and the local cricket and soccer clubs in the off season. Apart from normal training nights, Les makes himself available to treat injured players any night of the week. Here is a list of some of the other jobs he does around the club : Pick up bar supplies and stock the fridges, Clean social rooms and toilets, Sunday morning clean rooms after home game, back on Monday to clean again after juniors, works behind the bar. When there is any maintenance to be done you hear the call "Where's Les". Les has been involved with the club since the early nineties. Some of the other duties he has had over this time are,
(for the juniors) Trainer, runner, water person, goal umpire, coach and Junior Administrator. Les has been recognised for his tireless work over the years with Life Membership in 1999 and a half a dozen best clubman awards, (well he does do the work of six people). Les is like a lot of other volunteers at other clubs, he just loves to be involved."
