FREEBURN RETURNS FOR 2019 SEASON
The Global Product Search are proud to announce that Heidi Freeburn will be returning to the team in 2019. The team’s MVP from last year has committed for the 2019 season and Mackay Basketball is extremely happy that she will be in Meteorettes colours again.
Qbl Program Manager, Wade Rebetzke said, “ We are extremely happy that Heidi has decided to return for the 2019 season. Her leadership both on and off the court last year was huge for the club in what was a challenging year with injuries within the group.” “ Heidi’s drive to make herself and her team better is second to none and I know that she is keen to help the team improve on the 7th position and a quarter final loss from the 2018 season.”
Freeburn said, “ In my mind there was never any doubt that I would be playing in Mackay colours again in 2019. The atmosphere we get to play in front of each week is second to none and the community support is wonderful. I have always enjoyed my time playing here and I am looking forward to the 2019 season and helping the team in any way I can to be successful.” “We have a great group of core local players and if we add the right pieces I think we should be there at the business end of the season.”
Freeburn will arrive in Mackay in February to prepare for the 2019 season.
There will be more signings to come as both teams put their rosters together.
