The Leongatha v Maffra grand final rematch headlines round one of the 2019 TRFM Gippsland League season. The Parrots will have the opportunity to unfurl their premiership flag at home in round one against rivals Maffra which will kick off season 2019.
The 2019 fixture is sprinkled with marquee matches throughout the season with a number of Sunday and Saturday night games scheduled. Round three features a split round over the Easter break with East & South Gippsland both featuring Good Friday matches at Maffra & Wonthaggi respectively. Maffra also feature in a Saturday night game against Bairnsdale in round two. The second half of the split round will see Traralgon at home for the first time in 2019, under lights against the Lions. This will also be the 2018 A Grade & B Grade Grand Final rematches on the netball courts. To close out the round on Sunday the Western derby between Warragul and Drouin at Western Park.
Other highlights include round 12 which will see three marquee matches feature on Sunday 14th July with Sale hosting Maffra in the battle of the birds, Drouin playing close neighbour Warragul and Leongatha taking on their rivals Wonthaggi at Parrot Park. The fixture includes the bye weekend over the Worksafe Community Championships on the 18th May where TRFM Gippsland League have been drawn to play Central Murray FL. The other breaks will come in the split round 3 giving all clubs Easter Saturday & Sunday off and in round 11 over the school holiday period where matches will be played on the 29th June and 6-7th July. Sale & Bairnsdale will both have their bye in Round 10 after requesting to move their round 10 match to round 11 in order to feature a marquee match during the school holiday period in Bairnsdale.
The finals series will start on the final day of August with the Grand Final to be played on the 21st of September 2019. All finals venues will be confirmed at a later date.
