NEWS: Football Victoria releases 2019 Geelong Competitions’ Calendar

When reviewing the 2019 calendar, please note that dates listed are not specific to the day of play for competitions, rather indicative of the weekend a Round is scheduled.
2019 EASTER BREAK
Due to the timing of Easter and feedback provided by council’s and Clubs, FV has decided that there will be no Geelong Competitions scheduled during the 2019 Easter Break. To avoid doubt, this weekend will not be considered a ‘catch up round’.
2019 QUEENS BIRTHDAY & COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Queen’s Birthday weekend will again be scheduled as a catch-up round to accommodate those traveling for the Country Championships. FV would like to make clubs aware that unlike the Easter break, this is not an excluded weekend. Fixtures may still be scheduled during this weekend if in the situation a match is rescheduled or agreed upon in line with the associated regulations.
The 2019 season for Senior Men’s, Women’s and Juniors will commence on the weekend of Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th of April.
The Semi Finals for the above competitions have been scheduled for the weekend of the 14-15 September while the Grand Finals will be held the following weekend on the 21st and 22nd September.
If venue availability issues exist post winter season allocation periods, FV will work with Clubs and Councils to accommodate alternate arrangements.
The Qualifying Round of the 2019 FFA Cup/Dockerty Cup will commence with State League 5 Clubs and non-Metropolitan State League entrants the weekend from Saturday 9th February, with the Victorian Dockerty Cup Grand Final set down for the 11th of August.
The Women’s 2019 Team App Cup will commence on the 17th of March, with the Grand Finhal scheduled for the 11th of August
FV encourages all Geelong Regional Men’s and Women’s Senior Teams, both MSL and non-MSL to enter the FFA Cup and the Team App Cup respectively.
Further information regarding the 2019 FFA Cup and the 2019 Team App Cup will be released over the coming weeks.
Clubs are encouraged to communicate any likely ground availability issues as soon as possible (ground maintenance, ground sharing with another Club, etc) which will allow us to fixture accordingly. Please forward all comments, questions and feedback directly to Competitions@footballvictoria.org.au
